Projection mapping let’s you transform ordinary objects into dynamic displays by projecting visuals onto them. MadMapper is one of the most popular tools for this. Here’s a step-by-step guide to get started with the free version.
Open the software and click the Video Output icon, at the top left corner of the interface.
In the Settings tab, on the left side of the interface, set the Destination to be your projector.
To project in Full Screen mode, click the central icon on the horizontal bar at the top of the interface.
From the top left toolbar, click the Media Library icon.
On the left vertical toolbar, click the Rectangle tool.
Note: MadMapper isn’t an editing program, but you can:
- Resize, rotate or scale textures.
- Adjust colors in the Settings tab using Color Controls.
For irregular objects, click the Mask tool on the left hand side of the interface.
